Who We Are & Why We Do It

Our Mission

A family-owned training program built on generations of passion, hard work, and a deep, unwavering love for horses.

The Story

Built on Generations of Horsemanship

Bloomquist Horse Training is a family-owned and operated equine program built on generations of passion, hard work, and a deep love for horses. Our daily operations are led by mother-and-daughter team Michele and Hayley Bloomquist, whose combined experience and shared values create the heart of our barn.

Michele grew up riding from a young age, developing a lifelong dedication to western performance horses, discipline, and honest horsemanship. Her daughter Hayley followed naturally in her footsteps — growing up at the barn with her siblings, spending long days riding horses, getting dirty, and most importantly, watching and learning from the trainer she admired most: her mom.

Today, Hayley raises her two sons at the barn in the same hands-on, joy-filled, horse-centered environment that shaped both her childhood and career. The legacy continues — one generation at a time.

Working Together
Why It Works

The Strength of Working as a Family

Working together as a family gives us a unique advantage. We know each other's histories, strengths, weaknesses, and training styles instinctively. This allows us to deliver consistent, high-quality instruction with the benefit of different teaching approaches — ensuring that every rider can learn in a way that best suits them.

We welcome riders of all ages and skill levels, from first-time beginners to seasoned competitors. Whether you're working toward the show pen, looking to strengthen your horsemanship, or seeking a supportive and family-oriented barn community, we're here to help you grow every step of the way.

Together, as a family and as a team, we are proud to offer a training experience rooted in history, strengthened by collaboration, and dedicated to helping every rider reach their potential.

What Guides Us

Our Core Values

01

Integrity

We do right by the horses and riders in our care. Honest communication, fair training methods, and a commitment to what's best — not just what's fastest.

02

Excellence

Decades of championship-level training have shaped our high standards. We push every student and horse to reach their fullest potential, no matter the goal.

03

Community

Horses have the power to connect people. From inner-city outreach to family bonding sessions, we believe in using horsemanship to build stronger communities.

04

Partnership

The relationship between horse and rider is everything. We build trust, communication, and mutual respect — creating partnerships that last a lifetime.

Our Reach

More Than a Training Program

Over the decades, the Bloomquist family has brought equine expertise far beyond the arena — touching lives across communities, disciplines, and cultures.

Championship Results

Michele is the trainer and handler of multiple PCHA champions. Our horses and riders have earned titles through disciplined, trust-based training that produces real results in the show pen.

International Training

Michele has trained horses and riders in Japan, sharing western horsemanship principles across cultures and expanding the reach of quality equine education beyond U.S. borders.

Community Outreach

Hayley actively works with local non-profits to introduce inner-city kids to horses and horsemanship — building confidence, empathy, and life skills through equine connection.
